The Essex County Fell Championships is a fell running race taking place on Saturday, 18 April 2026. This event is the first-ever Essex County Championship for this discipline. The course is described as new.

Course Details

The race covers a distance of 10 km (6.2 miles) with a total climb of 450 m (1476 ft). The start line is a 10-minute walk from the event headquarters. The venue for the event is the Jubilee Retreat on Bury Road in Chingford.

Participation and Entry

Entry is by pre-entry only; entry on the day is not available. The pre-entry fee is £5.00. The event is open entry, meaning anyone can participate. However, only runners who are qualified for Essex will be eligible to win the county championship prizes.

Additional Information

A night-time street orienteering event in Chelmsford using MapRun. Choose from a 60-minute or 40-minute score course, navigating to fire hydrant controls on lit paths. Part of a winter series with handicap scoring.

A roughly 42 mile trail ultra along the historic St Peters Way from Chipping Ongar to the ancient chapel at Bradwell on Sea. The route uses footpaths and bridleways, has four staffed checkpoints and strict compulsory kit requirements.
