Arrowe Park - Wirral Multi-Terrain League

Arrowe Park is one of four midweek races in the Wirral Multi-Terrain League held each September. The series is run over varied ground that includes sand, rocks, mud and hills. Events are organised as a sequence of four races at different Wirral locations, with Arrowe Park listed as the final venue in the series schedule.

Racing categories and distances are set by the series rules. Senior (main) races are between 6.5K and 8K and junior races for ages 11 to 14 are approximately 2 miles.

Entrants must be able to complete the course within one hour for safety reasons. The competition is open to first claim members of a number of UK Athletics affiliated clubs, with second claim runners permitted when their first claim club does not participate. Runners are expected to wear their recognised club colours.

The series awards trophies and medals based on performances across the four races. Individual awards are normally decided from the best three of four results, with tie breaking using positions in later races. Team scoring is calculated across all four races; male teams normally consist of five scorers and female teams of three scorers.
