Winter's End is a trail running event on the South Downs Way National Trail on 21 March 2026. The main event is a point-to-point 50 mile ultramarathon starting just outside Arundel in West Sussex and finishing at Winchester Athletics Track in Hampshire. The route follows old droveways along the chalk ridge of the South Downs and passes villages and ancient woodlands. Two marathon options cover either the first half of the 50 mile route from Arundel to Queen Elizabeth Country Park or the second half from Queen Elizabeth Country Park to Winchester Athletics Track. The course is fully marked and includes aid stations and village hall checkpoints with toilet facilities and food.

Key on-course and event details: well stocked aid stations with vegan options, PH 1000 electrolyte served pre-mixed, cupless event arrangements, bag drop at each start, and an option to receive a finishers medal or have a tree planted instead. Mandatory kit requirements include a headtorch (for all 50 mile runners and marathon runners who may exceed 7 hours), a jacket and a pack or belt for the tracker for 50 mile entrants, and at least 500 ml of fluid for all runners. 50 mile runners will have a kit inspection before collecting race bibs. Cut-off times are 13.5 hours for the 50 mile and 8 hours for each marathon option. Entries are open to those aged 18 and over on the event date.
