The 50 mile race is a point-to-point route that starts near Arundel in West Sussex and finishes in Winchester, Hampshire, following trails along the South Downs chalk ridge. Marathon Option 1 follows the first half of the 50 mile course to Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Marathon Option 2 covers the second half from Queen Elizabeth Country Park to Winchester Athletics Track.

Logistics and services

Courses are fully marked and aid stations are described as well stocked with sweet and savoury snacks, vegan options, water and flat coke. Aid stations will also provide PH 1000 electrolyte liquid, a pre-mixed drink delivering 1,000 mg sodium per litre. The 50 mile event includes two village hall checkpoints with toilet facilities, hot food and drinks. A bag drop tent will operate at each start and bags will be transported to the finish.

Mandatory kit requirements include a headtorch or chest torch for all 50 mile runners and marathon runners who may exceed 7 hours, a jacket and a pack or belt to carry a tracker for all 50 mile runners, and at least 500 ml of fluid for all runners. Organizers advise downloading the GPX file and note that 50 mile runners will have a kit inspection before bib collection. Coach transport is provided from Winchester or Queen Elizabeth Country Park to the start locations; parking arrangements differ by option. Join a guided 10km trail run around the Devil's Punchbowl in Hindhead, enjoying rolling hills and a scenic pause with great views. This friendly group paced run is led by an experienced guide and runs at sunset or by headtorch in winter.
