Dalby Forest Winter Trail Runs 2026

The event takes place on 29 November 2026 at Dalby Forest, Low Dalby, Thornton le Dale, Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 7LT. The race base is at Adderstone Field, a few miles past the visitors centre in the centre of Dalby Forest. Dalby Forest is a Forestry England site on the southern slopes of the North York Moors with over 8,500 acres of woodland.

Races and course

  • Marathon : 26.2 miles: two laps of the half marathon route; cut-off 6 hours.
  • Half Marathon : 13.1 miles: single loop on forest trails.
  • 10km : 6.2 miles: shorter winter trail distance.

Routes mainly follow forest fire roads and include viewpoints across the North York Moors. Route maps are provided for the 10km and half marathon courses. The marathon uses two laps of the half marathon route.

Additional information

The event is canicross friendly: one well-controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, snacks and drinks. Subsidised parking is available at £4 per vehicle, with payment made after the event at Forestry England pay machines.
