Dalby Forest Wild Winter Trail Runs 2026

Dalby Forest Wild Winter Trail Runs take place on 29 November 2026 at Dalby Forest, Low Dalby, Thornton le Dale, Pickering, North Yorkshire. The event is held at Adderstone Field, a few miles past the visitor centre in the centre of the forest.

Distances include:

  • Marathon 26.2 miles, two laps of the half marathon route, cut-off time six hours.
  • Half Marathon 13.1 miles, single loop through forest trails.
  • 10km 6.2 miles, shorter winter trail option.

Routes mainly follow forest fire roads and provide views across the North York Moors. Route maps are provided for the 10km and half marathon courses. The marathon uses two laps of the half marathon route.

The event is canicross friendly with one well controlled dog per runner; dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North and results are issued on completion. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and snacks and drinks.

A 36 mile ultra along the full Esk Valley Way from Castleton to Whitby Harbour, fully way marked with GPS tracking, checkpoints and support.

A fell race held during the Osmotherley Show on Saturday 1 August 2026, covering 8.8 km with 320 m of climb. Open to runners aged 16 and over, entry is on the day and show admission is required.

Trail marathon, half and 10k around Farndale from Hutton Le Hole with compulsory kit, downloadable maps and a 330 runner limit.

Join Scarborough AC for an 8.6 mile fell race across the North York Moors, featuring 475 m of climbing and sweeping moorland views. Entry on the day makes this a great spontaneous stop in the Dave Parry Esk Valley summer series.
