DALBY FOREST WILD WINTER TRAIL RUNS 2026
The Dalby Forest Wild Winter Trail Runs take place within a Forestry England site on the southern slopes of the North York Moors. Covering over 8,500 acres of woodland, the event base is located at Adderstone Field, situated several miles past the visitor centre in the center of the forest. The routes primarily follow forest fire roads and offer views across the North York Moors.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- Marathon: A 26.2-mile course consisting of two laps of the half marathon route with a six-hour cut-off time.
- Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile single loop through the forest trails.
- 10km: A 6.2-mile trail run.
The event is canicross friendly, allowing one well-controlled dog per runner provided they remain on a lead at all times. All participants are timed using a live chip-timing system for accurate results. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal, official merchandise, and a selection of snacks and drinks at the finish line.
Subsidised parking is available on-site for a fee, payable at the Forestry England machines after the event. The races are open to different age groups depending on the distance: the 10km is open to those 15 and over, the Half Marathon to those 17 and over, and the Marathon to those 21 and over.
