Winter Downs 200
The Winter Downs 200 is a 200 mile continuous trail run held from 9 to 13 December 2026, starting and finishing at Juniper Hall near Box Hill in Dorking. The course forms a large loop around the South of England and follows a sequence of established trails.
The route uses the North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way. Key route sections and approximate distances are: 18 miles east on the North Downs Way to the Vanguard Way at Botley Hill; 45 miles south on the Vanguard Way to Alfriston; almost 80 miles west along the South Downs Way to Exton; 32 miles northeast via the Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way to Farnham; and a final 25 miles on the North Downs Way back to Juniper Hall.
Runners have up to 96 hours to complete the course. Live tracking is provided across the event. Competitors may be accompanied by a crew and may use a drop bag at three major aid stations where hot food and sleeping facilities are available. The race is single stage, so the clock continues to run during any rest. The event includes long periods of winter darkness, long stretches between aid stations and undulating terrain.
Minimum age for entry is 20 or older. Entry fees listed include UKA discounted entry at £600 and non-UKA discounted entry at £602. The event is organised by Centurion Running and is held under a UK Athletics permit through the TRA; permit number is to be confirmed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
