The Winter Downs 200 is a continuous trail run of 200 miles (approximately 321 km) held 10-14 December 2025. The race is based at Juniper Hall, Old London Road, Dorking, RH5 6DA. The event is held under a UK Athletics permit (Permit Number 7864). The course has about 22,500 ft (6,800 m) of elevation and is approximately 20% road and 80% trail. The overall time limit to finish is 96 hours. Medical support, including race ambulances and static medical personnel at aid stations and the finish, is provided.
Course and logistics
The route is a large loop around the south of England using five named trails in sequence: North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way, returning to the North Downs Way to finish at Juniper Hall. The course is not marked with event-specific markings; GPX files are provided and runners must carry GPS access.
There are three major aid stations and one additional safety point. Aid stations provide hot food, sleeping facilities and access to a drop bag. Crew are permitted on the course but are not allowed inside the aid stations. Maximum stays are: 3 hours at Aid Station 1, 6 hours at Aid Stations 2 and 3, and 60 minutes at the safety point. Runners may have one drop bag at aid stations; bags must be under 20 kg and 120 litres and will be weighed at registration. Pacers are not permitted.
Entry and requirements
Places are limited and managed to allow up to 100 starters. Entry fee is £600 with a non-refundable deposit of £200. Applications must include details of running or multi-sport experience; organisers reserve the right to refuse applications.
