Winter Downs 200 : event overview
The Winter Downs 200 is a 200mi continuous trail run held 10–14 December 2025. The race is a single-stage loop around the south of England, starting and finishing at Juniper Hall, Dorking (RH5 6DA). Runners have up to 96 hours to complete the course. The event uses live tracking and allows crews and one drop bag per runner at the three major aid stations. Pacers are not permitted. Entry fee is £600; a non-refundable deposit is required and further payments are due before the event. Minimum age is 20 and places are managed to allow up to 100 runners on the start line.
Course, support and rules
The route follows established trails in sequence: North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way, then returns on the North Downs Way. Total ascent is listed as 22,500 ft and terrain is approximately 80% trail and 20% road. The course is not marked with Centurion markings; GPX files are provided.
There are three major aid stations (Mile 49, Mile 92, Mile 137) offering hot food, sleeping space and access to drop bags, plus a safety point at Mile 183 providing hot water and shelter only. Maximum stop times are 3 hours at CP1, 6 hours at CP2 and CP3, and 60 minutes at CP4. A detailed mandatory kit list and required drop bag contents (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, towel) are enforced, with time penalties for missing kit.
