Winter Downs 200

The Winter Downs 200 is a 200 mile continuous trail run forming a large loop through the South of England. The route links a series of long distance trails: the North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way. The event starts and finishes at Juniper Hall near Box Hill in Dorking.

Runners have up to 96 hours to complete the single stage course. Live tracking is available for the entire event. Participants may be accompanied by a crew and may use a drop bag at three major aid stations. Those aid stations provide hot food and sleeping facilities, but the clock does not stop while runners use them.

The course description specifies sequential sections and distances: east along about 18 miles of the North Downs Way to Botley Hill, then roughly 45 miles south on the Vanguard Way to Alfriston, then almost 80 miles west on the South Downs Way to Exton. A further section of about 32 miles follows the Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way up to Farnham to rejoin the North Downs Way. The final 25 miles return along the North Downs Way to Box Hill and Juniper Hall. Organisers note long stretches between aid stations, undulating terrain and extended hours of darkness during the event period. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
