Route and logistics
The route forms a loop around the South of England and follows five named trails in sequence: the North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way. Notable route sections and aid points include Mile 49 (Blackboys Village Hall), Mile 92 (Truleigh Hill YHA), Mile 137 (Sustainability Centre) and Mile 183 (Puttenham Cricket Club Pavilion, safety point). The course is not marked with event-specific signs; GPX files are provided and each section runs on way-marked trails.
There are three major aid stations offering hot food, sleeping facilities and access to drop bags, and one safety point offering hot water and shelter. Drop bags are available at the three major aid stations only; each bag must be 120 litres or less and weigh 20 kg or less. Crew access is allowed at designated points but not at the four aid stations. Pacers are not permitted.
A full mandatory kit list applies, with a one-hour penalty for missing items found on course. Race medical cover and checkpoint cut-offs are in place. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
