Wildflower Trail Race

Wildflower Trail Races : May 9-10, 2026

The Wildflower Trail Races take place over two days at Bastrop State Park in Bastrop, Texas. The event offers multiple race distances and rucking divisions across Saturday and Sunday, including:

• 50k
• Marathon
• Half marathon
• 12-mile
• 5-mile
• 5k
• 1-mile family walk & kids run
• 5-mile ruck

The 2026 event features a new start/finish staging area and new route options. New challenges include a 50/50 option (completing a 50k on each day) and Double 5's (running or rucking both distances across both days). Shirts and different medals are available for Saturday and Sunday.

Course, logistics and support

The course is a single-track trail system through pine, sand, and rock with rolling climbs and descents. Participants will pass areas affected by the 2011 fire and sections showing regrowth of the Lost Pines. All races use the same start/finish location within the park; there is no parking inside Bastrop State Park on race days. Parking is at Mayfest Park with shuttle buses running between Mayfest and the park; a shuttle van is available by request. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event and at the race site on race days.

Aid support includes a staffed aid station at the start/finish, a staffed station at Harmon Rd, and additional unmanned water points. Runners are required to carry their own hydration. Pacers are not allowed and crew access on course is limited. A special events park pass is required for individuals 12 years and older; the park fee is included with a runner registration.
