Wildflower Trail Race

Wildflower is a two-day trail event held at Bastrop State Park with parking at Mayfest in Bastrop, Texas. The event uses single-track trails that pass through pine, sand, and rock, and includes rolling climbs, descents, and sections showing the 2011 fire impact and regrowth of the Lost Pines.

Distances offered include:

  • Saturday: 5k, 5M, 12M, 50k, 5M Ruck
  • Sunday: 1 mile Family Walk, 5M, Half Marathon, Marathon, 5M Ruck

The 2026 edition features a new start and finish staging area and new routes, plus a kids run, a family one mile walk, a 50/50 Challenge of completing a 50k on each day, and Double 5s options in both running and rucking divisions.

Logistics note that there is no parking inside Bastrop State Park on race days; shuttle service operates between Mayfest parking and the start/finish area. All participants 12 years or older must have a park special events pass; runners receive access via their race bib. Camping and RV sites are reserved through the state park system and are limited.

Aid support includes a staffed aid station at the start/finish, a staffed station at Harmon Road, and unmanned water points on course. All runners are required to carry their own hydration. Pacers are not allowed and crew support is restricted to the start/finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
