Rise in the Pines

Rise in the Pines is a multi-distance trail event held in July 2026 at Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, Texas. The course is a 10 km loop through pine forest with some small hills, single-track sections, and portions of shade.

The event uses two full aid stations located at mile 3 and the start/finish area. Aid stations are stocked with drinks, sodas, sweets, salty snacks, simple meals, fruit, and basic medical supplies; nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are not provided. The race operates cupless aid stations; runners are expected to use reusable cups, bottles, or hydration packs. There is a tarp area at the main aid station for drop bags; staff will transport drop bags to mile 3 when the race begins.

Pacers are permitted for the 200K, 100M, and 100K after a runner has completed half the race or after dark. The overall event cutoff is 36 hours. Entry to the park is charged per day at bib pickup. A 500-runner maximum field cap is in effect. Race merchandise and finisher awards vary by distance, with buckles for the longest distances and medals for shorter distances and the relay.
