Rise in the Pines

Rise in the Pines is a multi-distance trail event held at Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, Texas in July 2026. The event is capped at 500 runners and is staged on a 10 kilometer loop through pine forest.

Distances and loop counts:

  • 200K - 20 loops of the 10k course
  • 100M - 16 loops of the 10k course
  • 100K - 10 loops of the 10k course
  • 50K - 5 loops of the 10k course
  • 30K - 3 loops of the 10k course
  • 10K - 1 loop
  • 100M and 100K relays - 5 person teams, exchange at start finish

The course is primarily single track with some small hills and partial shade. There are two full aid stations located at mile 3 and at the start finish; they are stocked with drinks, sodas, sweet and salty snacks, sandwiches, hot foods, and basic medical supplies. NSAIDs such as ibuprofen are not provided. The event operates cupless at aid stations so participants should use reusable bottles or hydration packs.

Logistics include a drop bag area at the main aid station with drop bags taken out to mile 3, a 36 hour overall cutoff, and permitted pacers for the 200K, 100M and 100K after the halfway point. Park entry is $10 per day, paid at bib pickup, and RV camping is available through the ranch.

Merchandise and awards include shirts for shorter distances, hoodies for the longest distances, buckles for the longest finishes and medals for other distances. Winners and masters awards are given across gender categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
