Labor Day Trail Challenge, Cedar Creek TX

The Labor Day Trail Challenge is a trail running event set in McKinney Roughs Nature Park in Cedar Creek, Texas on September 5, 2026. The venue covers varied terrain including single-track trails and fire roads through Lost Pines, box canyons, ridgelines, and river overlooks along the Colorado River.

Participants can choose from multiple race options:

  • 5K 3.1 Miles
  • 10K 6.2 Miles
  • Half Marathon 13.1 Miles
  • Marathon 26.2 Miles
  • Carpe Diem One Hour timed effort, run as far as possible in 60 minutes

Course features include scenic bluff top views of the Colorado River, up to 469 ft of rolling elevation gain on technical single track, and four converging ecosystems: Post Oak Savannah, Blackland Prairie, East Texas Piney Woods, and a riparian corridor. Aid stations are provided with water, electrolytes, and snacks. The course is chip timed and not stroller friendly.

Awards and finisher items follow the Rodeo Trail Run Series format. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Half marathon and marathon finishers receive a custom rodeo style belt buckle and an event moisture wicking shirt. Overall winners in each distance receive a cowboy hat award.

A looped trail race at Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, TX on July 11, 2026 offering multiple distances from 10K to 200K plus 100K and 100M five person relays, with aid stations, chip timing and finisher medals.

A two-day trail weekend at Lake Bastrop offering multiple distances, from 5K up to a backyard ultra with a 4.16 mile loop and cumulative time tiebreak. Courses run through Lost Pines forest with lakeside views and staffed aid stations.

A women only trail event at Rocky Hill Ranch, Smithville TX on Oct 24, 2026 offering 100k, 50k, 25k, 10k, 5k and a 100k relay on looped terrain with small climbs, three full aid stations and a 24 hour cutoff.
