The Whitestones fell race is a category CS event in the Lake District, England. The course distance is 6.4 km / 4 miles with 155 m / 509 ft of climb. Entry and requirements

Pre-entry is available online, with the option to pay on the day. Entry on the day is accepted; the on-day fee is £6.00. Teams are not allowed. Minimum age listed for the main race is 17. Seniors have mandatory kit requirements: full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves and whistle. Juniors must wear a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves.

Junior races

On 20 December take on the Beyond the Lune Skyline Winter Ultra, a 65 km loop from Kirkby Lonsdale climbing seven summits and finishing with beer or mulled wine and sourdough pizza. Tough, scenic and hugely satisfying.

Join Beyond the Lune Winter Editions for festive trail runs from The Royal Barn in Kirkby Lonsdale, with 5 km, 10 km and 20 km routes over rivers, footpaths and fells. Hot drinks, treats and a finisher beer add extra festive cheer.

Take on a classic Lake District fell around Latrigg on a flagged 8 km / 5 miles course with 460 m of climb and stunning views. Starts and finishes at Fitz Park Pavilion, Keswick, and pre entry via SiEntries is required.

Take on Orrest Sun Up in Windermere on Sun 21 Dec 2025, a bracing one mile climb to Orrest Head with stunning Lake District views. Entry on the day from The Phoenix Centre is £5 with donations supporting local community charities.
