Facilities at the social club include toilets, refreshments (sandwiches and cakes for a small donation), a bar, and prize giving. Teams are not allowed and there are no junior races. The event has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Run into the night on an unmarked rough route to Chapelfell Top in the Silent Night Race. This 6.6 km out and back with 370 m of climb requires navigation, strict kit and pre entry, making it a real test for experienced fell runners.
