White Tank Throwdown

White Tank Throwdown is a trail running event held at White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell, AZ on January 24, 2026. The event, organized by Thunderbird Trail Runners, offers two distances that run on a mix of perimeter trails and rugged canyon routes.

Courses combine the faster perimeter trails of Ironwood and Waddell with more technical segments on Ford Canyon, Mesquite Canyon, and Willow Canyon. Runners can expect sun-exposed singletrack, sandy washes, light scrambling over rock, and desert views. All routes start and finish within the park. Trails are well marked and GPX files and elevation profiles are provided on the event page.

Aid and support differ by distance. The 30K includes two aid stations with one remote station on the course; total elevation gain is about 2,500 ft with a 6 hour cutoff. The 10K has one aid station, about 600 ft of gain, and a 3 hour cutoff. Hydration is self-supported on course; disposable cups are not provided so participants must carry their own bottle or reusable cup. Drop bags are allowed at the start and finish.

Additional logistics noted by the organizer include a vehicle parking fee and no refund policy. Final details may be adjusted for weather or trail conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
