The White Tank Throwdown is a trail race held on January 24, 2026 at White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell, AZ. The event offers two distances and uses trails within the park. Start and finish are at the park group camping/parking area. The race runs rain or shine; extreme heat may shorten the course. Parking at the park has a vehicle fee.
Course and distances
- 30K: Uses Ironwood and Waddell perimeter trails plus Ford Canyon, Mesquite Canyon, and Willow Canyon. The route includes sandy sections and light scrambling; Ford Canyon is run twice. Elevation gain about 2,500 ft. Cutoff 6 hours. One remote aid station is located roughly 8.6 miles into the course; the second aid is at the start/finish area.
- 10K: Follows the flatter perimeter trails and a less technical portion of Ford Canyon. Elevation gain about 600 ft. Cutoff 3 hours.
Aid, gear and rules
Aid stations supply water, electrolytes, gels, fruit, snacks, and basic first aid. No disposable cups are provided; participants must carry their own bottle or reusable cup. Drop bags are allowed at the start/finish. No mandatory gear is listed; recommended items include sun protection and at least 500 ml of fluid. Headphones are discouraged, pacers are not allowed, leashed pets are prohibited, and participants are asked to follow Leave No Trace principles.
Entries and awards
