White Pine 50 Backcountry Run

The White Pine 50 is a 50 mile looped backcountry run through Upper Logan Canyon in northern Utah. The course starts and finishes at Beaver Mountain Ski Area and follows portions of the Bear 100 route. Organizers note that Beaver Mountain may be under construction for the 2026 season, so exact start and finish locations, parking and camping arrangements will be confirmed closer to race day. A course map and elevation profile are provided for navigation; runners should pay attention to course marking.

The event includes specific on course requirements and race series connections. Runners leaving the Spawn Creek and Tony Grove aid stations must carry a minimum of 2 liters of water (four full soft flasks) or 1.5 liters if carrying a filter. The first male and female finishers receive automatic entry into the next Bear 100 through the Bear Tag. The event is also part of the Cache Slam series which recognizes the fastest male and female across Logan Peak, White Pine and The Bear. A Fish Slap prize is offered for participants who combine fishing with running.

Camping and lodging options are noted by the organizer. Beaver Mountain offers camping for $25 per night with limited tent sites and vehicle camping in the parking lot, and showers and flush toilets will be available. Free dispersed camping is often available along nearby Beaver Creek and Franklin Basin Roads, and nearby USFS campgrounds include Sunrise, Lewis Turner and Tony Grove. Beaver Creek Lodge is located under a mile from the start and additional lodging is available in Garden City and Logan.

Registration details for 2026 include a registration closing date of August 13 at 11:59 PM MT. The organizer no longer offers rollovers; refunds are issued only if an entrant is replaced by someone on the waitlist and the event platform fee is non refundable. A flexible start time option may be offered early on race morning to address cut off concerns. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
