White Pine 50 Backcountry Run in Garden City, UT

The White Pine 50 is a 50 miles backcountry loop through Upper Logan Canyon in northern Utah. The course starts and finishes at Beaver Mountain Ski Area and follows sections of the Bear 100 route. The organizer notes the course is looped and provides a map and elevation profile plus a downloadable GPS file.

Mandatory hydration requirements apply at specific aid station exits: runners must carry a minimum of 2 liters (four full soft flasks) or 1.5 liters if using a filter. The event includes a special prize category for participants who fish while running and a Bear Tag that awards automatic entry into the next Bear 100 to the first male and first female finishers. The race is part of a Cache Slam series that recognizes the fastest female and male finishers across Logan Peak, White Pine and The Bear.

Beaver Mountain camping is available for a stated fee of $25 per night with limited tent sites; car, van and RV camping is permitted in the parking lot and showers and flush toilets are open. Free dispersed camping is often available nearby and Forest Service campgrounds in the area are named Sunrise, Lewis Turner and Tony Grove. The organizer cautions that Beaver Mountain may be under construction in 2026 and that exact start, finish, parking and camping arrangements will be determined closer to the event. A Runner's Guide provides full course description and additional notes on course marking and hydration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
