The Bear 100
The Bear is a point-to-point 100 Mile race held on September 25, 2026, that starts in Logan, Utah and finishes at Bear Lake. The course runs through the Pines, golden aspen and red maples of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest and travels into the Bear River Range of Utah and Idaho.
The event marks its 28th anniversary in 2026. It is listed as a Hardrock and Western States 100 qualifier and is an UTMB index race. Entry for the 2026 field was determined by a lottery; the lottery registration window ran November 15 to December 15 and the lottery was held on December 27.
Runners must meet a qualifying requirement before entering the lottery. Qualifiers include completing a 50 mile race in under 16 hours or completing any 100K, 100 mile or 200 mile event within the allowed cutoff. The qualifying window for the 2026 event ran from December 1, 2021 to December 1, 2025. Official race results are used to verify qualifiers.
Race management publishes an entry fee of $350 plus tax and event platform fees. Runners are required to complete eight hours of service, such as trail work or volunteer shifts at an ultra, within the service window beginning September 25, 2025 and ending September 15, 2026.
