The Bear 100 : September 25, 2026
The Bear is a point-to-point 100 Mile race held on September 25, 2026, between Logan, Utah and Bear Lake (Idaho/Utah). The course passes through pines, golden aspen and red maples in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest and the Bear River Range. The event has a 36 hour cutoff and is listed as a Hardrock and Western States 100 qualifier and as a UTMB index race. The 2026 running is the event's 28th anniversary.
Entry, qualification and requirements
Registration closes December 15, 2025, and a lottery window runs November 15 to December 15. The race fee is $350 plus tax and platform fees. To be eligible to enter the lottery, entrants must have completed an official race of 50 miles or longer; specifically, a 50 miler in under 16 hours or any 100K, 100 or 200 miler under that race's cutoff. The qualifying window for the 2026 event is December 1, 2021 to December 1, 2025. Qualifiers will be verified via official race results from Ultrasignup or race websites. Entrants must perform eight hours of service (trail work or volunteering at an ultra) within the window September 25, 2025 to September 15, 2026; this service is not required before registering.
