El Oso Loco Trail Race Series

El Oso Loco is a midweek trail race series hosted by Cache Trails Alliance in the Bear River Mountains. The series returns for 2026 and runs across six Wednesday evening events held in June and July. The first three races are June 3, 10, and 17. The last three races are July 8, 15, and 29.

Each race offers two course options:

  • Short course 3 to 5 miles.
  • Long course 7 to 10 miles.

The series is presented in partnership with CTA’s Adopt-a-Trail program and the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. End of season prizes are awarded to series runners with the fastest cumulative times. Proceeds support Cache Trails Alliance initiatives such as trail maintenance, development of new trails, and trail-related events.

The description focuses on the event format, dates, course options, partnerships, and how proceeds are used. Volunteers and community participation are part of the organization’s activities, and the series connects participants with local trail stewardship efforts.
