West Virginia Trail Fest : Snowshoe, WV (May 22–23, 2026)
The West Virginia Trail Fest is a family-oriented annual trail running event held in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, centered on Snowshoe Village. Race distances offered include:
- 100K
- 60K
- 30K
- 5K
- 1M Kids Run
The event takes place on mountain trails within and near Monongahela National Forest and several West Virginia state parks. Course features mentioned include historic fire towers, views of the Green Bank Observatory, summits of high West Virginia peaks, and sections that finish or start in Snowshoe Village, Cass Historic Railroad Park, and the entrance to Seneca State Park.
Race formats and weekend program
Selected race facts: the 100K lists about 11,500 ft of elevation gain and a cut-off of 20 hours; the 60K lists about 7,400 ft of elevation gain and a cut-off of 13 hours; the 30K lists about 3,800 ft of elevation gain and a cut-off of 10 hours; the 5K lists about 650 ft of elevation gain. The 60K is described as a point-to-point route starting at the Cass Historic Railroad Park; the 100K is noted to begin near Seneca State Park. Several races finish at Snowshoe Village.
Weekend activities include pre-race check-in and bus transport to some starts, a family movie night, kid activities, a ride on the Cass Historic Railroad, a local artisan and farmers market with vendor expo, evening entertainment and a post-race party, a sponsored shake-out run, and an awards ceremony with a raffle.
