West Virginia Trail Fest takes place in Snowshoe, Pocahontas County, West Virginia. The event includes trail races of several distances and a weekend of related activities. Check-in and registration are handled in Snowshoe Village (Seneca Room). Registration closes May 19.
Races and course highlights

Race highlights include significant elevation gain and mountain terrain. The 100K features about 11,500 ft of elevation gain, passage through three West Virginia state parks, climbs of two historic fire towers, views of the Green Bank Observatory, summits of two of the state’s highest peaks, and a finish in Snowshoe Village with a 20-hour cutoff. The 50K is a point-to-point route that starts at the Cass Historic Railroad area, has about 6,300 ft of elevation gain, includes two historic fire tower climbs, summits two high peaks, finishes in Snowshoe Village, and has a 13-hour cutoff. The 30K includes a historic fire tower climb, about 3,800 ft of elevation gain, a Snowshoe Village start/finish, and an 11-hour cutoff. The 5K is an evening race with about 650 ft of elevation gain and a Snowshoe Village start/finish. The kids event is a one-mile fun run.
Weekend activities and on-site features
The weekend program includes a family movie night, kid’s activities, a ride on the Cass Historic Railroad, a local artisan and farmers market, a vendor expo, live bands, fireworks, a sponsored shake-out run, and an awards ceremony with a raffle.
