Helvetia 10k Mountain Run
The Helvetia 10k Mountain Run is an annual trail race held in Helvetia, West Virginia, in southern Randolph County. The event takes place on the Sunday of the second full weekend in September and the 2026 edition is the 27th running.
The course follows portions of an original Swiss settlement trail and passes through the center of Helvetia. The race coincides with the Helvetia Fair. Each year the race shirt features a coat of arms from a different Swiss canton; the featured canton for the listed edition is the Canton of Bern and its heraldic bear is noted as a motif near Clay Hill.
The event traces its roots to 1998 as an early race directing effort that helped inspire the founding of the West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners organization. There is an option to combine this race with the Blackwater Canyon Half Marathon as part of the Black Hel double weekend to earn a combined award.
Registration for the 2026 event opens April 1, 2026, and entrants can register online or on race day. Additional course details, directions, results, and photos are published by the organizing club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
