Webster Trail Classic : event details
The Webster Trail Classic in Webster, NY was organized as a trail running event across three neighboring parks: Webster Park, Whiting Road Nature Preserve, and Gosnell Big Woods Preserve. THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
The course used different trail styles across the parks. Webster Park contains the start/finish area near Holt Road and the west-side trails; a connector trail leads from Webster Park to Whiting Road Nature Preserve. Whiting Road Nature Preserve includes open fields, wooded single track, bridges, and the greatest elevation change on course. Connector trails lead from WRNP to Pellet Road and into Gosnell Big Woods Preserve. Gosnell Big Woods Preserve features old-growth forest sections, a Big Field, and a Meadow Trail that returns runners toward WRNP and Webster Park.
Distances offered:
- 10 Miler (course length stated as approximate)
- 3.5 Miler (course length stated as approximate)
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run
Distance note: course distances were described as approximate; the 10-mile option was indicated to be between 9 and 11 miles and the 3.5-mile option between about 3.1 and 4 miles.
Hydration and aid: water was available at the start/finish; one on-course aid station was planned in the Big Field of Gosnell Big Woods Preserve. That aid station was cup-free, so runners were advised to carry a bottle if they planned to refill.
Registration was pre-registration only and there was no day-of registration. Children under 10 required accompaniment by an adult for the kids run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
