CandleLight 24 Hour Ultra and Relays

Rush, United States • 18-19 Jul 2026

Event details

The CandleLight 12/24 Hour is an overnight ultra and relay event held Saturday July 18 to Sunday July 19, 2026 in Rush, NY at Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp (809 Five Points Rd). The event program includes a 24-hour individual race, a 12-hour overnight individual race, a 12-hour overnight relay, and a 24-hour relay. A personalized BIB option is available for an extra fee and registration for personalized BIBs closes about one month before the race. The event is presented by The Greater Rochester Running Club. A sponsor listed is Wegmans. Registration for events opens November 28, 2025.

Course and race format

The race uses a loop course of about 1 mile. The loop is mostly paved with roughly 150 yards of wide, fairly smooth trail. The first half of the loop goes gradually downhill and the second half goes gradually uphill. Participants are scored by laps completed in the 12- or 24-hour time windows. One complete lap qualifies as an official finish. Walking, resting, and napping are allowed. The course will have one fully stocked aid station and participants may self-support by setting up personal coolers, tents, or chairs. Relay teams must have two to four members and use a BIB belt as the relay baton; the team captain registers the team. A CandleLight Facebook group is available for participant discussion.
