Rush, United States • 18-19 Jul 2026

CandleLight 12/24 Hour - Overnight Ultra and Relays

The event takes place at Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, 809 Five Points Rd, Rush, NY 14543. It offers timed ultra running on a roughly 1 mile loop course that is mostly paved with about 150 yards of wide, fairly smooth trail surface. The first half of the loop descends gradually and the second half climbs gradually.

Participants aim to complete as many laps as possible in the chosen time frame. One complete lap counts as an official finish and there is no minimum required time on course. Walking, stopping to rest, and napping are allowed. The course features one fully stocked aid station. Participants may self-support by setting up personal supplies such as a cooler, tent, or chair at their aid area.

Available entries include:

  • 24 Hour event - solo entry to run as many laps as possible
  • 12 Hour Overnight event - solo entry for overnight timed running
  • 12 Hour Overnight Relay - teams of two to four members using a BIB belt baton
  • 24 Hour Relay - teams of two to six members using a BIB belt baton

Relay teams decide member order, lap or time rotations, and there is no minimum distance per member. Team captains register and pay for the team, then add members to the roster. A personalized bib option is available for an extra fee; messages must be PG rated and may use smaller font for longer text. The race is presented by the Greater Rochester Running Club. A CandleLight Facebook group exists for participant questions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
