We Out Here Trail Festival : St. Edwards State Park

We Out Here Trail Festival takes place at St. Edwards State Park, on the traditional homelands of the Coast Salish People. The event is designed with first-time trail runners in mind; in 2025, 66% of participants identified as first-time trail runners. Organizers state a vision of creating a welcoming, community-focused trail experience and extend a particular invitation to people from underrepresented communities.

The festival programme includes an evening shake-out, a panel and packet pick up included with registration, a trail race day included with registration, and a brunch celebration that requires a separate purchase. The race uses a looped course to concentrate spectators and provide repeated views of participants. All finishers receive a medal and access to non-alcoholic drinks and snacks in the festival area. The festival area also provides free face painting and children’s activities.

Distances offered:

  • 1.9 miles (1 loop)
  • 3.8 miles (2 loops)
  • 5.7 miles (3 loops)

A two-hour option is also listed. All race distances are approximate. The event is adopting a sustainable racing program by eliminating disposable cups; participants receive a reusable HydraPak SpeedCup. Parking at the park is limited and requires a Discovery Pass; annual and daily passes are available for purchase onsite. Sponsors include REI, Gu Energy Labs, and HydraPak. The race directors bring backgrounds in running advocacy, coaching, and community programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
