Popsicle Marathon 50K

This event is an out and back trail race on the Sammamish River Trail beginning at Bothell Landing Park. The course follows the trail south for about 6.55 miles to Dr Call's Bench, which serves as the turnaround point for one lap.

Key course features include a steep downhill and a bridge about one mile in, a pass under highway 405, and Wilmot Gateway Park at about 2.5 miles where a bathroom and water filling station are located. Around six miles the trail passes several large fields at 60 Acres Park, then goes under 116th Ave St before reaching Dr Call's Bench. The 50K continues for a third out and back lap that extends to the end of the concrete bulkhead before returning to the start.

The event is part of the Lil Firecracker Triple and offers these distances:

  • Half Marathon: one out and back to Dr Call's Bench.
  • Marathon: two out and back laps.
  • 50K: three out and back laps ending at the concrete bulkhead.

The course is not closed to other users and will be lightly marked, so runners should follow trail directions and traffic signals. Water and snacks are available at the start and at the marathon halfway point. Finishers receive a wooden finisher medal. Registration is handled through Webscorer; the entry fee is $35 and registration closes two days before the event. Day of registration accepts $45 cash.
