Popsicle Marathon 50K

The Popsicle Run on Friday July 3, 2026 offers three distances on the Sammamish River Trail starting from Bothell Landing Park. The course is an out and back along the river trail with specific turnaround points for each distance.

From the Bothell Landing start the route heads south on the Sammamish River Trail. After about one mile the trail descends a steep hill and crosses a short bridge. The trail goes under highway 405 and passes Wilmot Gateway Park at about 2.5 miles where a bathroom and a water filling station are located. Around six miles runners pass several large fields at 60 Acres Park and then go under 116th Ave St. The primary turnaround for the out and back is a bench identified as Dr. Call's Bench at about 6.55 miles from the start. The half marathon is one out and back, the marathon is two out and backs, and the 50K requires a third out and back that goes to the end of the concrete bulkhead near the bathroom before returning to the start.

Distances:

  • Half marathon one out and back
  • Marathon two out and backs
  • 50K three out and backs to the bulkhead bathroom

Organizers provide water and snacks at the start and finish and at the marathon halfway point. The course is not closed and is lightly marked, so runners must follow traffic signals and route directions. Organizers will collect finish times and finishers receive a wood al medal. Registration is via Webscorer at $35, closes two days before the event, and day of registration is $45 cash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
