Seward Sizzler Trail Run

The Seward Sizzler Trail Run takes place in Seward Park, located on a peninsula surrounded by Lake Washington in Seattle. The event features a course primarily set within more than 100 acres of old-growth forest. Use of the area is shared with other park visitors, including pedestrians and cyclists.

The race utilizes a loop format with two available distances:

  • 4.2 miles
  • 10 km

The route begins on a wide, smooth main trail with flat and rolling sections. It then descends toward the tip of the peninsula before turning onto smaller trails on the western side. This portion of the course includes a narrow, technical section with roots and several small fallen trees that participants must navigate. The trails eventually widen and straighten as the loop returns toward the start.

An aid station is positioned near the start and finish area. Participants in the 4.2-mile event pass this station once, while those in the 10 km event pass it twice. The station provides water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks such as energy bars, gels, chips, and fruit. Following the run, the event offers food and an awards ceremony for top finishers. This race is part of the Tuesday Night Trail to Grill Series and is USATF sanctioned, which means dogs are not permitted on the course.
