Carkeek Warmer Trail Run

The Carkeek Warmer Trail Run takes place in Carkeek Park, located in Seattle, Washington. This event is part of the Tuesday Night Trail to Grill Series and features a course consisting of approximately 85% forest trails. The terrain includes a mix of fast, wide trails and narrower sections with rolling, moderate, and steep elevation changes.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 5k (3.1 miles) with 480 feet of elevation gain
  • 10k (6.2 miles) with 960 feet of elevation gain

The 5k route begins in the Lower Meadow and follows the Piper’s Creek Trail before climbing the South Ridge Trail through older forest sections. It then descends via the Clay Pit and Hillside Trails back to the meadow. The 10k distance consists of two laps of this loop. An aid station is located at the start and finish area, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks such as gels, fruit, and salty foods.

Post-event activities include a gathering with food such as hot dogs and watermelon. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in the Female and Open categories for each distance. The event is USATF sanctioned, and dogs are not permitted on the course. Trails remain open to the public during the run, and participants are encouraged to follow standard passing etiquette.
