Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series #3

The Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series #3 takes place at King County's Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park in Newcastle, Washington. Located approximately 15 minutes from Seattle, the park offers a variety of trail conditions, ranging from wide, groomed paths to narrow, technical sections. Participants run through lush forests and along fern-lined single-track trails, passing through marshes and over rolling hills.

The event features three distinct distances for participants to choose from:

  • 5k
  • 10.8 miles
  • 19.5 miles

The series is organized by Northwest Trail Runs in partnership with the Seattle Running Club and is Trail Sisters Approved. This event is part of a long-standing series that supports local conservation efforts, having raised significant funds for King County Parks and contributed numerous hours of trail maintenance.

The start and finish area is located at the Sky Country Trailhead. Registration is available online until the Wednesday before the event, and on-site registration is also offered on the day of the run. For those interested in the competitive aspect of the series, runners must complete at least three of the four races in either the Short Series or Long Series to be eligible for the overall standings.
