Wasatch Trail Run Series - Snowbird
The Wasatch Trail Run Series event at Snowbird takes place on July 15 and August 19 at the Snowbird Creekside area. Registration is held in Entrance #1, Creekside. The event is cupless; water is available only at the start and finish, so participants should bring a full hydration pack or bottle.
Two point to point loop courses start and finish at Creekside and use a mix of dirt roads, single track, and short paved sections. Course notes include a temporary reroute at the beginning to avoid a lower section of Creek Road. That reroute adds about 0.7 miles and includes more single track.
Distances and elevation gain:
- 7.9 miles, about 1800 feet elevation gain
- 5.2 miles, about 850 feet elevation gain
Turn-by-turn descriptions describe routes past landmarks such as the Gadzoom lift and Creekside Cafe, Dean’s Delight single track, Snowbird Center and Tram Deck, Black Jack single track and road sections, Rothman Road, Midway Trail and loading station, and Baby Thunder sections. The long course and short course share many segments but diverge on steeper climbs and loop choices.
Live music by Blue Grass Thunder will take place near the start and finish. Preferred BBQ parking is available near the band and start area for participants using gas-only grills.
Snowbird is located up Little Cottonwood Canyon; continue up the canyon about seven miles to reach the resort and park in Entrance #1 Creekside. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
