Courses and terrain
The 50K is a point-to-point trail connecting Holbrook Canyon Trail, The Great Western, Sessions Pass, Mill Creek, Kenney Creek, Mueller Park Trailhead, North Canyon Trail, Rudy’s Flat, and Elephant Rock. An alternate 50K course may be used that removes the Mill Creek to Kenney Creek section, replacing it with an out-and-back first section (15.5 miles total) and a 16.3-mile finish loop. Trail surface is approximately 80% dirt singletrack, 19% dirt road, and 1% paved. The first 15.5 miles of the 50K include most of the climbing; the course description notes about 8,600 ft of total climb with 6,084 ft in that opening section. The Mueller Park courses involve about 2,516 ft of elevation change over the half-marathon loop.
Logistics, aid and policies
There are two limited aid stations in the first 15.5 miles of the 50K; participants are advised to carry water for that section. Registration closes on Fri, Jul 31. The event does not offer general refunds, transfers, or automatic deferments; a one-year deferment may be allowed with documented medical reason submitted one month before race day. Volunteers who complete a full shift receive complimentary entry applied to a subsequent year; half shifts receive a 50% credit. All finishers receive a handcrafted medal; top male and female of each distance receive a special award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
