Wasatch Trail Run Series – Deer Valley

The event is a trail running meeting at Deer Valley with a post-race picnic and live music. The start and finish are at the Snow Park Lodge at Deer Valley in Park City. A grassy hillside near the finish is available for picnic seating.

Two course options are offered:

  • Short Course: about 5.5 miles, 1000 feet elevation gain
  • Long Course: about 8.5 miles, 1700 feet elevation gain

Both courses begin with a steep climb on a dirt road, then move into forested single-track including the Pipeline Trail and sections that descend into a small canyon. Runners pass down a ski run to a dirt road, rejoin single-track to reach the Gap Trail, and cross a paved road (vehicles have right of way; crossing guard instructions apply). After more single-track with views of the Jordanelle Reservoir and Park City panorama, the route returns toward the start/finish area, passing under the St Regis funicular and descending a dirt road to the finish.

The long course continues past the short/long split onto Deer Crest Trail and a segment of the Mid-Mountain Trail before a final downhill to the finish. Water is available only at the start and finish; the series is cupless. Live music at the picnic is planned with performer details TBD.
