Deer Creek Half Marathon
The Deer Creek Half Marathon is a trail race held in Midway, UT, that starts and finishes at the Deer Creek Dam Trailhead and runs entirely along Deer Creek Reservoir. The course is 13.1 miles with about +970 feet of elevation gain and is 100% packed dirt trail.
The route is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals; after the first quarter mile the course is described as easy to follow. Aid stations are placed roughly every 4.3 to 4.5 miles and are stocked with water, Gatorade, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and handheld snacks. There is no cutoff time for the event.
Runners receive a race shirt, a locally made finisher medal, and age-division medals for top finishers in each age group. Overall male and female top three receive custom locally made topographic plaques; first-place prizes also include gift cards from a local running company. Free race photos and live results are provided. Post-race breakfast is supplied by Great Harvest Bread and includes seasonal sweet breads and beverages.
The event is organized by Happy Trails Running and the half marathon field is capped at 150 participants. Registration is offered in tiers with listed fees for early, regular, and late entry; late registration closes on July 10. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
