Follow the Flag 5K Trail Race

The Follow the Flag 5K Trail Race is a trail event in Pleasant Grove, Utah, on E Grove Creek Drive. The course is described in three distinct sections: the first mile is relatively flat and fast, the second mile is an uphill climb that raises the heart rate, and the final mile is downhill and finishes along Grove Creek beneath a large flying American flag.

The event is organized by the Follow the Flag Foundation, a volunteer organization that has supported funerals for fallen military and first responder personnel since 2014. Entry fees are directed to the event's general purpose fund. That fund supports missions such as hanging flags in canyons in honor of the fallen, decorating neighborhoods when a soldier returns, repairing or replacing the organization’s large flags, and helping families affected by the loss of a service member.

Finishers receive a Follow the Flag 2026 finisher medal. The race is presented as one of several patriotic events run by the organization to provide local opportunities to honor veterans and first responders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
