Warslow Fell Race

Staffordshire Moorlands Athletics Club organises the Warslow Fell Race, held in Warslow near Buxton, Derbyshire. The event includes senior and junior races and takes place on routes that cross open and private land around the village.

The course contains steep and technical ascents and descents and is intended for experienced fell runners. The organisers have introduced cut off times and may require FRA mandatory kit in certain conditions; entrants will be notified in advance when this applies. Entrants who do not expect to complete the course in under 1 hour 55 minutes are asked not to enter.

The race is held under Fell Runners Association and UKA rules and carries Licence Number 2026-9716. Prizes are awarded to the overall first, second and third finishers in the male and female categories. Parts of the route cross private land; participants should not recce sections that are not on recognised footpaths or access land.

Venue and practical information are provided for Warslow Village Hall, Cheadle Road, Warslow, Buxton SK17 0JJ. Parking is on village roads; participants are asked to be considerate to residents and other road users. Public transport options may be available via the Moorlands Connect bus service.

Trail runs nearby

A 3 km or 5 km run at Bowdon Rugby Club with drinking stations every kilometre and a mix of inflatable and non inflatable obstacles. Drinks are included and only participants aged 18 or over may take part.

Three trail routes start at Bakewell Showground and explore varied Peak District terrain including moors, valleys and parts of the Pennine Way. The Half Marathon route includes outposts and does not allow dogs.

A timed track ultra at Woodbank Park where runners complete as many 400 m laps as possible within 6, 12 or 24 hour limits, with chip timing, an aid station and indoor facilities on site.

Trail races at Tatton Park on 31 May 2026 offer 5 km, 10 km and half marathon routes across grassland, woodlands and park paths. Live chip timing, on-site parking, and a medal plus refreshments for finishers.
