Wanakee Wilderness 5K
The Wanakee Wilderness 5K is a trail race held on the Wanakee camp property in Meredith, New Hampshire, with a target date of August 15, 2026. The event supports the camp scholarship fund and ongoing facility improvements, and it is organized as part of the Wanakee Homecoming.
The course crosses a 227 acre site and runs through hills and woodland valleys. Runners follow varied trail terrain through northern hardwoods and evergreens, over granite rocks and woodland paths, and past features named on the course such as Lemon Squeeze, Look Out Point with views of the Lakes Region, and the Waterfront.
Race day includes participant registration, an awards ceremony, and camp activities after the race. A Homecoming BBQ is offered after awards; BBQ tickets are listed at $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12. A silent auction is part of the Homecoming schedule and winners are announced later in the day. The event provides opportunities both for people who run the course and for guests who spectate or join post-race activities.
