Waldenwoods Turkey Trot

The Waldenwoods Turkey Trot is a trail race held at the Waldenwoods Resort and Conference Center in Howell, Michigan. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Hartland Area Project, an organization established in 1929 to support community health, education, and economic development. The route consists of a single distance:

  • 3.2 miles

The course winds around Lake Walden, featuring a start and finish line located at the resort grounds. Participants run on trails through a property that dates back to 1924. The event utilizes old-school analog timing for all participants.

Those who register for the race receive a T-shirt and post-race snacks. Additionally, entry includes participation in a raffle for various prizes, such as a one-year day-use membership to the resort. While race day registration is permitted, certain event items and swag are only guaranteed for those who complete their registration by mid-October. The logistics for the race are organized by Waldenwoods in collaboration with the Running Lab of Brighton to support local community initiatives.
