Wadsworth Half Trog

The Wadsworth Half Trog is a fell race that uses much of the terrain of the full Trog on a shorter route. The course is 9.3 miles (15 km) with about 1,400 ft (420 m) of ascent. The route is only partially flagged and the moorland can be muddy. The event date is 8 November 2026. The finish and some checkpoints are on flagged sections from CP8 to the finish.

Practical information

The race location is Old Town with Race HQ to be confirmed. Public transport to Hebden Bridge and a connecting 595 bus to Old Town are described as suitable options; parking is limited. Pre-entry fees are listed as £5.00 for FRA members and £7.50 for non-members, with a pre-entry deadline of 7 November 2025. Entry on the day fees are listed as £6.00 (members) and £8.50 (non-members). Entry may be available up to a race limit of 200. Minimum age is 18.

The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UKA rules and is a non-GPS race. GPS devices may be used to record a route but not for navigation except in an emergency; anyone using GPS for safety navigation must declare themselves non-competitive at the finish. FRA mandatory minimum kit is required and will be checked before number allocation: waterproof full body cover (waterproof trousers and a waterproof jacket with an integrated hood and taped seams), hat or buff, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food.
