Event details

The Volusia County Schools Trails to Success is a 5k out-and-back run/walk on the paved Spring-to-Spring trail at Gemini Springs Park in DeBary, Florida. The course runs through shaded areas with oaks, pine woods and palm hammocks and may include wildlife sightings. The race date is Sunday, November 16, 2025. Entry fees vary by participant type: community members pay $25, Volusia County Schools employees register free (ID required), employee family members pay $10, and students pay $5. T-shirts are provided to the first 400 registrants and a Gemini Springs themed finisher medal is given to the first 400 finishers. The event will include music, light food, an award ceremony and opportunities to explore park features such as fishing, canoeing and camping.

Logistics and awards

Pre-race packet pick-up is available on November 12-14 at the DeLand Administrative Complex, Board Room, 200 North Clara Ave., DeLand, FL. Race-morning packet pick-up is at the Oak Tree Area / race zone of Gemini Springs Park. Volusia County Schools employees must present their VCS ID at packet pick-up or in-person registration. There will be no race-day registration. The race will be professionally timed using disposable electronic tags on bibs; participants should wear bibs on the front, pinned at all four corners and visible. Results will be posted at the race and then online. Awards are given overall, for masters and grand masters, and to the top three finishers in 16 male and 16 female age groups. Designated parking is provided near the race zone. This is not a USATF certified course; mileage is measured as accurately as possible.
