The Trail Running Festival takes place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve, 2317 Creek Shore Trail, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. The event uses trails through parts of the preserve’s roughly 2,500 acres, including old growth forests, oak hammocks, river edge and salt marsh areas. The course is a 12K (7.5-mile) loop. Half-marathon and 48K participants complete multiple loops. Walkers are allowed in the 12K and half events. The 48K has a pace requirement of about a 14-minute per mile average.
Logistics and support
Packet pickup is at the pavilion in Doris Leeper Park near the start/finish on the Friday and Saturday before the race. Parking is available at the start/finish area. Two aid stations are on course and supply snacks, water and electrolyte drink; runners must bring a cup, reusable bottle or hydration system. Aid Station 1 is at the start/finish. Aid Station 2 is at the Martin Dairy Road access, about 2.6 miles into the loop; runners are self-sufficient for roughly 5 miles after leaving that station. Drop bags may be left at the start/finish and are accessible after each loop.
All participants receive a custom long sleeve race t-shirt and a distance-specific finisher medal. Awards are given by overall, masters, and top 10 male and female categories for each distance. Post-race food includes homemade vegan chili, snacks and drinks; rum runners are offered for those 21 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
