VO2Max 3K OCR is a regional obstacle course race based out of the Altitude Movement gym in Colorado Springs. The event is organized to introduce and use the USAOCR 3-Band System as the race rules format. The course is approximately 3K in length and is expected to include about 15 to 20 obstacles.
The event takes place indoors and outdoors around the gym at 750 Garden of the Gods Rd, Ste 125, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Obstacles will include swinging, hanging, climbing, carrying, crawling, and accuracy/agility elements, in addition to running. There will be no specific water, mud, or swimming obstacles, though dirt and potentially muddy or slick footing are possible if weather conditions are wet.
Two entry categories are offered: Competitive waves grouped by age with podium awards for each age group, and Open waves for adult and youth participants that receive finisher medals only. Finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt; other items will be available for purchase. Entry fees vary by date: $50 through July 1, $65 from July 1 to Oct 1, and $70 afterward. Refunds are not available; registrations may be transferred to another racer for a small administrative fee. Spectators may attend for free.
