The Virginia Highlands 3 Day Trail Running Camp is a weekend camping and running experience in the southern Virginia highlands region.

Location and Accommodation

The camp is based at the TRAIL:30 Firefly mountain property near Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. Registration includes camping on the property from Thursday night until Sunday morning. The property has showers, toilets, electricity, running water, a communal kitchen, and a shared refrigerator. There is very limited or no cell phone service from the property. Three basic tiny cabins with queen mattresses are also available for rent; occupants must bring their own bedding.

Running Schedule

The camp includes three organized group trail runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. The runs are optional.

  • Friday: 12.5 miles with 1,800 feet of elevation gain.
  • Saturday: 10 miles with 1,600 feet of elevation gain.
  • Sunday: 10 miles with 1,900 feet of elevation gain. This route features a small waterfall.

Participants will caravan from the property to the daily run locations. Interactive maps or GPX files of the routes are provided beforehand.

Additional Details

Food and transportation are not included; participants must bring all their own meals and snacks and provide their own transport to the property.
