Virginia Highlands 3 Day Trail Running Camp (May 29 to 31, 2027)
This is a three night, three day trail running camp organized by Wandering Runner with TRAIL:30 in Mouth of Wilson, VA. The program includes group camping on the Firefly mountain property from Friday night until Monday morning and three organized morning group runs in the southern Virginia highlands.
The property offers showers, toilets, electricity, running water, a communal kitchen, and a shared refrigerator. Cell service can be very limited or absent on site. Participants must bring their own food and manage their own transportation; each day the group will carpool to run locations. GPX routes and a participant handbook will be provided before the camp. No dogs are allowed.
Planned group runs
- Saturday: 12.5 miles, 1,800 feet elevation gain.
- Sunday: 10 miles, 1,600 feet elevation gain.
- Monday: 10 miles, 1,900 feet elevation gain.
Accommodation options and prices are listed for tent camping and three tiny cabins on the property. Tent camping rate is $249 per person. Cabin rates vary by cabin and occupancy; each person sharing a cabin must register separately and cabin guests must bring sheets and bedding for a queen mattress. Food and transportation are not included. A photographer will be present to take photos during the weekend. Registration opens January 14, 2027.
