The Viper 5 mile trail run (Autumn edition) - 24 Sep 2026

The event is a five mile trail run held at The Viper, Mill Green Rd, Mill Green, Ingatestone CM4 0PT. It is the autumn edition and carries TRA Permit 7714. Entry is limited to a small capacity on a first come first served basis; only participants aged 18 or over may enter. Total places are 50.

The course follows a regular anti-clockwise route. The organiser notes that a head torch may be needed as the run could finish in the dark. A tail runner will be present to assist with navigation if required. The route is published on Strava and a narrative is available from the organiser.

This is a 100 percent self sufficient event. Participants should carry water and other provisions; phones and head torches are compulsory. High visibility clothing and waterproofs are recommended for unseasonable conditions. Non-TRA or EA members pay a two pound levy.

Parking is available opposite the pub but space is limited. A free public car park in Mill Green is a ten minute downhill walk away. Bike racking is provided at the pub and car sharing is encouraged.

At the finish runners hand their race number in at the bar and are offered a pint, a glass of wine, a soft drink or a hot drink. The Viper and the Cricketers both offer food menus; larger groups may find the Cricketers more suitable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
