The Viper 5 mile trail run (Autumn edition)

The event takes place on 24 Sep 2026 and runs under TRA Permit 8449. It is a small capacity event offered on a first come first served basis and is open to entrants aged over 18. The venue is The Viper, Mill Green Rd, Mill Green, Ingatestone CM4 0PT.

The course is a regular anti clockwise trail route for the autumn edition and a Strava route is available. Participants should expect lower light levels and may finish in the dark, so phones and headtorches are compulsory. This is a 100% self sufficient event; entrants should carry water and other provisions. High visibility clothing and waterproofs are recommended if the weather is unseasonable.

Race numbers are collected at the venue before the run. The event uses a mass start and a tail runner will be on course to help with navigation if needed.

Parking is limited opposite the pub. A free public car park in Mill Green is about a 10 minute downhill walk away. Bike racking is available at the pub and car sharing is encouraged.

Non TRA and non EA members pay a £2 levy. Entry prices start at £12 and rise to £13.50 later; a service fee of 4 percent with a minimum of 50p applies to sign ups. At the finish, hand the race number in at the bar to receive a pint, a glass of wine, a soft drink or a hot drink. Both The Viper and The Cricketers offer food and booking a table in advance is suggested for larger groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
