The Viper 5 mile trail run (Autumn edition)

The Viper 5 mile trail run takes place on 21 October 2025 at The Viper, Mill Green Rd, Mill Green, Ingatestone, CM4 0PT. The event is organised by Multisport-Management and has a small capacity of 50 places. Entry is for over 18s only and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Non-TRA or EA members pay a £2 levy. A TRA permit is listed as TBC.

Course and logistics

The course follows public rights of way around the local countryside and uses the same route as the spring event. The autumn edition is held "in the dark." The event is described as 100% self-sufficient: runners are asked to carry water and other provisions. Phones and headtorches are compulsory; high-visibility and waterproof clothing are recommended. A tail runner is provided to assist navigation if required.

Parking opposite the pub is limited; there is a free public car park in Mill Green about a 10 minute downhill walk away. Bike racking is available at the pub. Race numbers are collected on site and must be handed in at the bar after finishing to receive a pint, a glass of wine, a hot drink, or a soft drink. Food is available at The Viper and at The Cricketers; organisers ask groups to book a table and pre-order food in advance. Prices shown: £12 until 31 July 2025, then £13.50 until 30 September 2025.
