Course and logistics

All races use the Gateway Trail system and nearby park trails, with a mix of single track, double track, dirt roads, gravel driveways, grass shoulders and short paved sections. The course elevation change is about 770 feet per loop, with short steep hills and mostly groomed trails that include sections with roots, downed logs, and sharp turns. Porta-potties are located at 0, 0.5, 1.4 and 6 miles. Aid stations are located at miles 6 and 10; 50K runners will pass each aid station three times. A course GPX and map are emailed to entrants before the race because parts cross private property. The course is not closed to the public and runners may encounter equestrians, pedestrians and bicyclists.

Support, rules and standards

The event is produced by a Washington non-profit and limits entries to 200 participants. It follows ATRA event standards and holds a USATF sanction with required Safe Sport and MAAPP compliance. There is live tracking via UltraSignup. Day-of registration is available with priority for 50K entrants. Camping on the Friday night before the race is offered in the start/finish field with porta-potties and water. Aid stations provide water, sports drink, salty snacks, fruit, PBJs, gels and other standard foods. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
