Event Overview

This event is part of the multi-month Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series, organized by the Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs. It takes place at the Sky Country Trailhead in Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park near Bellevue, Washington.

Course and Setting

The course is on fern-lined, single-track trails through a lush forest. The terrain features rolling hills, moderate climbs, and some short, steep inclines. The park is a popular training ground located about 15 minutes from Seattle. The event is cup-free; participants are asked to bring a refillable water container for use at aid stations.

Community and Charity

A portion of every entry fee is donated to support King County Parks; the series has raised over $265,000 for the parks. There is typically post-race food and beverages. The top three male, female, and nonbinary runners in each distance receive a podium prize.

Series Information

The series includes spring, summer, and fall events. For the summer series, runners can compete in a Short Series or a Long Series across multiple months. Awards are given for the best three out of four races in a series, with top overall runners receiving an award and free entry for the following year's series.

Registration and Policies

Online registration closes the Wednesday before the race, with day-of registration available if space permits. There is a participant cap, and events tend to sell out. Dogs are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
