One Step Closer
One Step Closer is a timed endurance event on August 15, 2026, held at Lincoln Park in Seattle, Washington. Participants choose from fixed-time events : 18, 12, 6, or 3 hours : and complete as many laps as they can on an about two-mile loop that passes along the Puget Sound shoreline and through forested single-track trails.
The loop combines paved paths and packed gravel on the waterfront with a short climb into shaded trails among towering evergreens, ferns, and cool forest sections. Wildlife sightings may include owls, seals, whales, bald eagles, and squirrels. The start/finish area is located on a baseball field and functions as a festival hub with music, rotating aid-station snacks, a loop tally station, tie-dye and glam activities, and space for friends and families to set up cheering sections.
New features for 2026 include a team Battle of the Run Club Challenge for teams of 2-5 runners, with a rotating trophy and a lululemon outfitting prize for the winning team. A Kids Loopy Race runs for either 30 minutes or 1 hour; kids complete as many laps as possible and receive a One Step Closer medal at the finish.
The event operates cupless to reduce waste; participants are encouraged to use a handheld bottle, hydration pack, or a reusable cup. Overall awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary runners in each time category based on total mileage. Registrations are non-refundable; youth and senior discounts are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
