One Step Closer : Orca Running at Lincoln Park

One Step Closer is a timed endurance event held on August 15, 2026, at Lincoln Park in Seattle, WA. The course is a repeated 2 mile loop that combines a beachside first mile with paved and packed gravel surfaces and a short single-track climb into forested trails.

Participants choose a time category and complete as many loops as they can within their selected period. Event formats include 18 hour, 12 hour, 6 hour, and 3 hour options. Overall awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers in each time category based on total mileage; awards must be picked up at the event.

New for 2026, teams of two to five members can register for a team challenge; the top three teams with the most loops will receive a finisher plaque. A Kids Loopy Race offers 30 minute and one hour options, with all children finishing together and receiving a medal.

Support on course includes snacks, water, and endurance fuel, plus scheduled food offerings such as coffee and pastries, sandwiches and popsicles, and barbecue with a vegan option. The event is cupless; runners are asked to bring a reusable bottle or pack. Free gear check is available and packet pickup is provided before the event. Registrations are non-refundable but may be deferred or transferred under the stated race policies. Parking is limited in the upper lot with additional on-street spaces nearby. Walkers are welcome, strollers are not, and dogs may not participate on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
