Vancouver Island Trail Running Series - Port Alberni

This event offers three trail distances based at EJ Dunn Elementary School Track, 3500 Argyle St, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 3A8.

The course features varied terrain with technical trail sections. Course maps and Strava routes are available, including GPX and TCX downloads.

The event acknowledges that it takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Tseshaht and Hupačasath First Nation and notes respect for the lands.

Logistics and race details:

  • The event is cupless; participants must bring a personal drinking container or may purchase a cup at the merch tent.
  • A government-issued photo ID is required to collect race bibs.
  • Aid stations are located on the courses according to distance.
  • Street parking is available; signage requests not to block driveways and to avoid parking at the Gymnastics or Rugby Club.
  • Post-race fuel is provided by volunteers and draw prizes are offered by sponsors.

  • 22 km - 500 m vertical gain; 4 aid stations
  • 10 km - 220 m vertical gain; 2 aid stations
  • 1 km (kids) - registration fees support the Alberni Valley Rescue Squad
