Vancouver Island Trail Running Series Lake Cowichan

The event is scheduled for May 9, 2026 at Centennial Park, Cowichan Lake Recreation Centre, Lake Cowichan, BC V0R 2G0. The race was introduced in 2025 and uses trails built largely by volunteers.

Three distances are offered:

  • 26 km
  • 13 km
  • 1 km

The long course has 638 m of vertical gain and three aid stations at about 8.75 km, 16 km and 21 km. The short course has 171 m of vertical gain and one aid station at 8.75 km. Aid stations provide water, Gatorade and snacks. The event is cupless so participants should bring a reusable drinking container or purchase a cup on site.

Parking is available in the recreation centre upper lots, lower gravel lot and on Point Ideal Drive; parking volunteers assist in the lower lots. Bib pickup requires a government issued photo ID. The finish area includes post-race food and drinks and draw prizes from sponsors.

Run Saysutshun is a coastal single track loop around Saysutshun Island with cedar groves, sandstone cliffs and ocean lookouts. Choose timed or fixed distances from 10 km to 24 hours for a scenic trail and endurance challenge.

Trail races in Ladysmith on July 4 2026 include a 20 km long course and a 1 km kids race with routes through Holland Creek and Heart Lake and a finish at Transfer Beach.

Trail races at Cobble Hill Mountain offering long, short and kids distances with aid stations and a cupless policy. Bib pickup requires government photo ID and parking is only in designated nearby areas.
