UTAH 115 - About the race
UTAH 115 is a high desert ultramarathon held in southern Utah. The event offers three race distances:
- 115 miles
- 50 miles
- 50 kms non stop
Race dates are 15 to 17 May 2026. Cutoff times are 50 hours for the 115 mile race, 20 hours for the 50 mile race and 13 hours for the 50 km race. UTAH 115 is a USATF sanctioned event.
The course passes through rugged red rock canyons, sweeping plateaus and long sections of deep, shifting sand. The route is located in remote high desert terrain and is described as passing through areas used historically by early settlers and by Navajo and Paiute tribes. The conditions include hard sun exposure and extensive sandy surfaces that affect footing and energy use.
The start and finish are in Kanab. In May, Kanab averages a daily high of about 78 F and a daily low of about 44 F, with low rainfall and roughly 14 hours of daylight. Located on the Colorado Plateau, the area averages about 256 days of sunshine per year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
