Up on the Downs

Up on the Downs is a trail running event held at Breamore House near Fordingbridge. The course starts and finishes at Breamore House and runs mainly on trails and country paths through farmland, footpaths and bridleways. The 10k course is slightly over standard distance and measures about 11.5k. The 10k and half marathon routes are around 95% trail.

Distances offered include:

  • Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
  • 10K - approximately 11.5 kilometres
  • 5K - shorter route for recent starters
  • 5K Canicross - 5k class for runners with dogs

The 5k is designed to give non-runners and recent starters a route suited to trying trail running. A separate Canicross class for the 5k includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies. All courses include a few hills but none that are expected to be excessive, and there are scenic views along the routes.

Event services listed for competitors include a finisher’s medal, trophies for top male and female finishers, marshalled routes, mobile medics, aid stations and hot food and drinks available on the day.
