Zachary M. Negron Unforgettable Trail Race
The third annual Zachary M. Negrón Unforgettable Trail Race takes place in Calhoun, Georgia, at the Georgia Cumberland Academy campus. This event features multiple distances and course types designed for different age groups and preferences. The races are chip-timed to provide accurate results for participants interested in competition.
The following distances are available:
- 10 km trail run.
- 5 km trail run through woods, river banks, and past natural springs.
- 1 mile Kiddie Fun Run on a running track for children in second grade or younger.
The 5 km course is professionally certified and follows a route through forested areas, along a river bank, and past a historic landing strip. For the youngest participants, the one-mile run occurs on the campus track. Finishers of the Kiddie Fun Run receive a participant medal and an event t-shirt, while trophies are awarded to finalists in that category.
Proceeds from the event support two primary causes. The Unforgettable Foundation of Tennessee provides financial assistance for funeral costs to at-risk and grieving families who have lost a child. Additionally, the event supports the Zachary M. Negrón Memorial Scholarship, which provides funding for students at Georgia Cumberland Academy who demonstrate perseverance and hard work.
