UltraTrax Wisp

UltraTrax Wisp - Wisp Resort, McHenry, MD

UltraTrax Wisp takes place at Wisp Resort in McHenry, Maryland on April 11, 2026. The event is built around a 7-mile loop that combines shaded single-track, punchy climbs, and open ski-trail stretches with sweeping views over Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding Allegheny ridgelines. The published elevation gain for the loop is 802 ft.

Participants choose how many loops to complete and may add weight with a vest or ruck. Distance options are:

• 7 miles (Level 1)
• 14 miles (Level 2)
• 21 miles (Level 3)
• 28 miles (Level 4)

Walkers may go unweighted or carry 10, 20, or 35 pounds. All distances must be completed within 10 hours to earn official finisher recognition. Finishers receive event items such as a commemorative patch and an UltraTrax finisher shirt; Level 3 and Level 4 participants are eligible for the Grey Wolf medal. Additional vest/ruck bonus swag is noted for weighted participants.

The course is professionally timed, well marked, and supported by volunteers and aid stations. The event includes post-trek food, cold drinks, music, and professional photography at the base area.
