Event details

UltraTrax Wisp takes place at Wisp Resort in McHenry, Maryland on April 11, 2026. The event offers loop options of 7, 14, 21, and 28 miles. Participants have a 10-hour cutoff to complete their chosen distance. The listed course terrain is varied, with a reported total elevation gain of 1,974 ft. Course start and maximum elevations are given as 2,529 ft and 3,086 ft respectively. Aid stations with water, electrolytes, snacks, and toilets are placed approximately every 2.5 to 3 miles.

Course and logistics

The route begins at the resort base and climbs via wooded ski runs, service roads, and double-track connectors. It weaves onto single-track sections and passes through the Fork Run Recreation Area before reaching an exposed ridge that overlooks Deep Creek Lake. Descents return runners via freeride-flow trails and ski-trail connectors into the village base area. The course is described as well marked, with on-course staff and medical support. Participants may add a 10, 20, or 35-lb weighted vest or ruck for additional finisher recognition.
