Event Overview
The UltraTrax Wisp is a timed event on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Wisp Resort in McHenry, Maryland. The event is not a race but offers participants up to 10 hours to complete their chosen course. It starts at the resort base.
Course Details
The course showcases Wisp’s Appalachian terrain. It begins with a climb up wooded ski runs and service roads. Participants traverse flowing single-track trails, wide double-track snow-cat paths, and high ridge trails that offer views across Deep Creek Lake. The route descends through tree-lined corridors and ski-trail connectors back toward the village, finishing at the heart of Wisp Resort.
Distances
The event features four distances, based on loops of a 7-mile course:
- Level 1: 7-Mile Course (1 loop)
- Level 2: 14-Mile Course (2 loops)
- Level 3: 21-Mile Course (3 loops)
- Level 4: 28-Mile Course (4 loops)
Participant Information
All finishers receive a custom t-shirt and a velcro patch. Participants who complete the Level 3 (21-mile) or Level 4 (28-mile) course earn the UltraTrax Grey Wolf Medal. An option exists to wear a weighted vest (10, 20, or 35 lbs) for bonus finisher swag. Complimentary parking is available onsite. Bibs can be mailed or picked up on the morning of the event, with a cut-off for mailed bibs on April 1, 2026.
Post-Event
A post-trek party with refreshments, food, and music starts at 11:00 AM at the finish area.
