RAF Trail Race Series
The RAF Trail Race Series takes place in Coopers Rock State Park, West Virginia. Managed by the Robin Ames Foundation, this event serves as a celebration of life in honor of Robin Ames. The series offers multiple trail running distances held at 61 County Line Road in Bruceton Mills.
The event features several trail course options:
- 50K (Five laps of the 10K loop)
- 50K Relay (Teams of five, with each member completing a 10K loop)
- 25K (Two 10K loops and one 5K loop)
- 10K (A single loop)
- 5K (A single loop)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (Known as Robin's Scouts)
The 10K loop includes approximately 687 feet of elevation gain. Its primary ascent is a Category 4 climb with an average grade of 3.4 percent, gaining 429 feet over 2.4 miles. The 5K loop features a total elevation gain of 380 feet. Because all loops start and finish at the same central location, the venue provides a gathering space with food and music.
In addition to the in-person races, virtual options are available for the 50K, 25K, 10K, and 5K distances. Participants choosing the virtual format can submit their results using digital tracking data between October 1 and October 30. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
