Wild Turkey Trail Runs

Wild Turkey Trail Runs is a free trail race held at Valley Falls State Park near Fairmont, WV. Multiple distance options are offered and the event uses a marked loop course with a single central aid station adjacent to the parking area.

Distances:

• 50 mile
• 50 kilometer
• 25 kilometer
• 10 mile
• 5 mile

The core loop is a moderately difficult 10 mile figure 8. Elevation gain is approximately 175 feet per mile. A single aid station is located under a large park shelter next to the parking area, allowing easy access from the lot. A Strava route is published for the 50k and a course map and elevation chart are provided in the event materials.

The race is free; organizers will provide food and drinks including Tailwind and Gatorade. Participants may bring personal fuel to supplement aid station offerings. Race shirts are available for purchase for $25 with a reservation deadline of 7/30/26. Registration closes on Wed, Aug 19 at 11:59 PM ET.

Finishers may receive small giveaways including car stickers and homemade medals. Yearly membership in the hosting club is optional and costs $10. There is no camping at Valley Falls State Park; nearby camping is available at Coopers Rock and Tygart Lake State Park. Organizers note that volunteers are welcome.
