Wild Turkey Trail Runs

Wild Turkey Trail Runs is a West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners (WVMTR) club event held at Valley Falls State Park, 720 Valley Falls Rd., Fairmont, WV, on August 22, 2026. The event is offered as a free club run; membership is optional and a yearly membership fee is noted.

The course uses two 5-mile trail loops that start and end at a single aid station picnic shelter located directly adjacent to the parking area. The aid station is under a large park shelter next to the parking lot, so participants may use their cars as personal aid locations. Organizers will provide food and drinks; participants are advised to bring some of their own fuel. Finishers receive small giveaways including car stickers and homemade medals.

This is a club event with no registration fee, but participants must register on UltraSignUp so an e-signed waiver and emergency information are available. Members and non-members are welcome. Elevation gain on the course is approximately 175 ft per mile. Refer to UltraSignUp for specific cutoffs for the 50M and 50K distances and for additional course resources such as maps and route files.
