UltraTrax Wachusett : event description

UltraTrax Wachusett is a timed trail event on Wachusett Mountain that follows ski slopes, single-track, and wooded trails. The route climbs through pine and hardwood forest and reaches exposed upper mountain terrain with wide views across Central Massachusetts and, on clear days, the Boston skyline. The course is well marked.

The event offers multiple loop distances. Participants may choose from:

  • Level 1: 7 miles
  • Level 2: 14 miles
  • Level 3: 21 miles
  • Level 4: 28 miles

The event is not a race but is timed; participants and walkers have 10 hours to complete their chosen course. Level 3 and Level 4 participants may qualify to earn the UltraTrax Grey Wolf medal by completing the course within that time limit. Participants can wear added weight using a 10, 20, or 35 lb weighted vest or ruck to unlock additional finisher items.

Bibs can be mailed or picked up the morning of the event. If a participant registers after 8/15/26, bibs must be picked up in person; a friend or relative may pick up a bib on the participant’s behalf. Complimentary onsite parking is available. Finishers receive a custom t-shirt and a velcro patch. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase after the event. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Conservation Lands Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
