UltraTrax Gore Mountain

The event is a timed trek, not a race, up Gore Mountain. It takes place on a loop trail system, with participants completing one or more loops to reach their chosen distance. The route features wooded slopes, creek-side paths, and ridge roads, and is described as almost entirely shaded.

There are four distance options, referred to by the number of loops completed:

  • 7 miles (one loop)
  • 14 miles (two loops)
  • 21 miles (three loops)
  • 28 miles (four loops)

Participants have a 10-hour time limit to complete their chosen distance. There is an option to carry a weighted vest or ruck of 10, 20, or 35 pounds for bonus finisher items. The course is described as extremely well marked.

All finishers receive a custom t-shirt and a velcro patch. Participants completing the 21-mile or 28-mile distance also earn the UltraTrax Grey Wolf Medal. The event includes a post-trek party with refreshments and food. Complimentary on-site parking is available.

Bibs can be mailed or picked up on the morning of the event. A portion of the event's proceeds is donated to the Conservation Lands Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
